Background
Macy’s is a high-end department store chain.
Objective
Macy’s was targeting men from 28 to 45 years old whose household incomes are $50k+. These men typically don’t use the fall season to refresh their closets but are motivated by savings and style. The goal of this ad was to drive men to stores and increase the fall sweater revenue.
Approach
Conveyed through a promotional, urgent (because the event was time sensitive), and clever tone, I emphasized the value of savings on brand name style. Throughout the email, I chose to motivate men by focusing on the benefit of leaving a lasting impression with a stylish sweater to entice men to visit Macy’s during the fall sweater event.
SPEC A-1 Motor Oil Email
Background
A-1 is a (fake) motor oil company. The target audience for the A-1 Performance Motor Oil is men ages 35-50 who own expensive and/or performance cars. These men are very conscientious about taking good care of their cars and don’t mind spending a bit more for the best products.
Objective
A-1’s goal for this email project was to increase awareness of the A-1 Performance Motor Oil and drive purchases on the company website.
Approach
I opted to connect with the consumer experience by referencing the performance and potential of the car’s engine with A-1 Performance Motor Oil. I used an exciting, urgent, promotional, and serious tone to imply that A-1 Performance Motor Oil prolongs and betters the life of the customer’s car engine.
